Covid-19

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as of June 2020, 13% of Americans reported starting or increasing substance use as a way of coping with stress or emotions related to COVID-19. Overdoses have also spiked since the onset of the pandemic.

Below are some actions you can take if you or a loved one has any questions or need help for an opioid use disorder:

  • Contact your healthcare provider
  • Attend a virtual treatment program, with medication management
  • Discuss options for medications with your healthcare provider.
  • Take medicine as prescribed and sign-up for regular group therapy, when possible
  • Call the National Drug and Alcohol Treatment Referral Routing Service (1-800-662-HELP) to speak with someone about your alcohol or substance use problem
  • Practice harm reduction techniques to minimize risks to yourself or loved ones

In the event you or a loved one is experiencing an emergency, feeling suicidal, in danger, or harmful to yourself or others, please call 911, go to your local emergency room, or call (800) 273-8255.
